Transcript:
Meat Boy began as a simple Flash prototype game on Newgrounds. Made in three weeks by Edmund McMillen and Jon McEntee, it became one of their most played Flash games and drew the attention of Microsoft and Nintendo. During that time, McMillen met Tommy Refenes, a fellow Newgrounds developer, and together they formed Team Meat and set out to make the best game ever.

Despite living on opposite sides of America, the duo went to work on an expanded version of Meat Boy. McMillen worked on level design and artwork while Refenes built an original engine and coded the game. Team Meat worked feverishly on Super Meat Boy to get it ready for Microsoft's Xbox Live Arcade GameFeast event. Out of time and money, Team Meat worked 12 hours a day on little sleep and food, but Super Meat Boy was finally ready for the limelight.

Super Meat Boy launched on XBLA and quickly became the biggest hit of the GameFeast event, but Microsoft didn't keep their end of the bargain; Super Meat Boy never got it's exclusive launch week or the number one spotlight. The WiiWare version was cancelled for exceeding the size limit and the PC release still loomed on the horizon, but Team Meat soldiered on.

Super Meat Boy was released on PC the very next month to critical acclaim. It went on to sell a million copies in little over a year - Super Meat Boy was a rousing success. Now with all the monies and fame, Team Meat is hard at work making the next best game ever!

Have fun!
