In January 1986, Coluche, who a few months earlier founded the association of Restos du Cœur, brought together artists, public figures and politicians on television to promote the association and its actions. Jean-Jacques Goldman composed La Chanson des Restos, which was interpreted by several personalities and went on tour to benefit of the association. After Coluche died suddenly in June of 1986, his widow Veronique Colucci relaunched the initiative as a new television program in December of that year. In 1989, a tour was organized, bringing together Jean-Jacques Goldman, Johnny Hallyday, Eddy Mitchell, Véronique Sanson and Michel Sardou - it was called the "Tourée d'Enfoirés" and was released as album and videotape in 1990. The concept of Enfoirés was born and the name continues to cover the group of artists who come together to sing for the benefit of the Restos du Cœur. The Enfoirés concert became annual in 1992. Since 2000, it has become a series of concerts, gathering over forty artists and celebrities from all walks of life, with the money from their performances (concerts, TV rights, CDs and DVDs) being donated to the association, Restos du Cœur (Restaurant of the Heart.)
