Andy is bonding with Theo (who mentions he wants to be a cop) at the park, when he hears on his radio that all the emergency vehicles rushing by are going to the scene of a cop shooting. The cop's partner is worried that he is going to be jammed up as his wounded partner's husband is a captain in the NYPD and he was pursuing another suspect at the time (and not backing his partner up). When the 15th Squad is ready to break into the apartment of a possible suspect, Danny gives Diane something else to do, thus keeping her out of harm's way. She later calls him on it, when he tries to do the same thing when they are set to take another suspect. When they return to the house, Danny stops off to break off his relationship with Mary. The Captain stops by to see how the investigation is proceeding into his (now dead) wife's shooting.
