The morning after his return from Florida with McDowell and his son, Sipowicz picks up a case with a missing child and gets a "thumbs up" from one of the uniforms. He arrives at the scene of the missing child's home, only to meet the mother, Catherine Lowe, gathers a few details of the case and gets a "your my hero" from one of the other uniforms. Back at the squad the father of a friend of the missing boy (Tommy Dwyer, a guy retired off the job) stops by to tell the detectives what he knows. He doesn't believe the boys are together anywhere, since he knows his son was at school. He also mentions the missing boy wasn't thrilled with his homelife; preferring to live with his father over his mother.
