Als Steffen Eisermann und Jörg Schubke abends vergnügt mit Blumen für ihre Frauen nach Hause kommen, öffnet nur Marita Schubke die Türe. Steffens Frau Lissi - die beiden wohnen nebenan - ist nicht da. Keiner weiß, wo sie sein könnte. Doch die Schubkes beruhigen Steffen: Lissi würde sicher bald zurückkommen. Er aber ist der Meinung, dass seine Frau ihn betrügt. Darum will er auch keine Vermisstenanzeige erstatten. Zur gleichen Zeit häufen sich in der Gegend Fälle, in denen Kraftfahrer nach dem Besuch von Raststätten den Verlust ihrer Geldbörsen und Brieftaschen melden. Am nächsten Tag wird auf einem abgelegenen Parkplatz eine Frauenleiche gefunden, es fehlt aber jeglicher Hinweise auf ihre Identität.
