Thomas Behrens wird beim Überqueren der Straße von einem SUV überfahren. Der Unfallverursacher flüchtet. Zeugen berichten, der Fahrer habe beschleunigt und sei direkt auf Behrens zugefahren.
Die Kommissare finden heraus, dass Behrens ein skrupelloser Schmarotzer war, der Familie, Freunde und Bekannte nach Herzenslust ausgenutzt hat: seine Freundin Jenny Krüger, seine Ex-Frau Bettina Euler, seine Kollegin Elisa Nitsche und Christoph Schönborn.
Die SOKO hat Mühe, aus dem alkoholisierten Schönborn und seinen widersprüchlichen Aussagen zu seinem verschwundenen Auto schlau zu werden. Die Kommissare nehmen ihn in Gewahrsam.
