The series takes place before the movie Rogue One and its suicide mission on the planet Scarif. Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) is a rebel who seeks to topple the Empire. To bring him down, Luthen (Stellan Skarsgård) wants to enlist Cassian Andor in a larger rebellion. They decide to penetrate the Empire and become one of its soldiers. The Empire seems to be becoming more and more of a failed regime. Mon Mothma (Genevieve O'Reilly), senator of the planet Chandrilla will be on their side. She is unfavorable to the Empire and is a founding member of the Rebel Alliance. They will also be able to count on Saw Gerrera (Forest Whitaker), a rebel leader motivated to bring down the Empire. Cassian Andor will discover that he can turn the tide and be the standard bearer of a new rebellion.
