This CHP Mustang Honors 40 Years of Special Service Mustang

You do NOT want to see this car in your rearview mirror. Ford and the California Highway Patrol have a long history, and to celebrate the 40th anniversary of CHP using Mustangs, they created this one-of-a-kind tribute car. While it's not technically an active police car, it's outfitted with everything the real ones have, from the paint scheme to the police radio.

Jay is joined by former Mustang Chief Engineer Dave Pericak to go through the history of Ford's police vehicles—from the first 1950 Ford custom to the legendary Crown Vic that could run for half a million miles. Jay and Dave dive into all the details of the special police package, including the tech, the wiring, the upgraded brakes, and why they'd order a manual transmission for police duty.
