The Starbucks Scam that Changed Twitter Forever

In 2019, Lady Gaga's Little Monsters created a fake Starbucks promotion called #SHALLOWBUCKS where they tricked twitter users into streaming Shallow from A Star is Born (2018) for a free Starbucks drink, to help the song reach Number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, after Lady Gaga's live performance with Bradley Cooper at the Oscars. The iconic scam went viral and created a legacy on stan twitter, where stans would attempt to trick locals with similar scams.
