Wolfenstein 3D was to implement stealth gameplay like its predecessor, Castle Wolfenstein, that included dragging bodies, uniform-swapping, and silent kills but it was ultimately dropped in favor of simplifying and speeding up gameplay.

In the beginning of Chapter 5 of The New Order, you'll find a cot that will transport you into a 'nightmare,' in which BJ relives the first level of Wolfenstein 3D complete with retro graphics but still retaining the game's modern mechanics.

Wolfenstein 3D has a giant pushwall maze consisting of 181 identical rooms in which only one path will lead you to a sign that says "Call Apogee and say Aardwolf." The first player to do this would have won all Apogee games for life, but level editors and cheats forced the developers to abandon the contest.
