Transcript:

The enormous universe in No Man's Sky is not stored on a server or hard disk, but is actually generated by your PlayStation 4 or PC meaning the game will be playable offline. Also, NO LOADING SCREENS! The No Man's Sky universe is procedural, but not infinite. Good luck visiting all 18 quintillion planets. Or finding any other players.

The planets in No Man's Sky have ecosystems in relation to their proximity to their star. Planets in closer orbit will be barren deserts while planets further out are frozen tundras. These may be great for finding resources, but if you want to discover new life, you'll have to search the so-called Goldilocks Zone.

In No Man's Sky, you will actually be discovering new species that you can catalogue and name but there will be filters so no one could possibly sneak any hilariously disgusting names into The Atlas. Not only that, these creatures have unique calls that are generated using software that models their throats based on their body type.

No Man's Sky has robots called sentinels that will keep you from wreaking too much havoc in the universe and assign you a wanted level but they aren't on every planet. So find a lawless planet, mine some resources and enjoy anarchy on par with Las Vegas or a Trader Joe's parking lot.

While there isn't a story, the developers have teased that there is a lore. Players are even encouraged to make their way to the Center of the Universe. But what's there?! They won't tell us. You’ll have to play the game… or ask the guy who bought an early copy for $1250.
