Ever since humanity discovered the Charon Mass Relay, they've been under attack. The Turians in the First Contact War, the Geth, the Collectors. Not to mention Commander Shepard yelling, "The Reapers are coming!" for three games straight. So Jien Garson created the Andromeda Initiative to settle the resource-rich Heleus Cluster in the Andromeda Galaxy.

The Initiative sent recruits in cryostasis on a 600 year journey aboard ships called Arks. Garson commanded the Nexus space station while each Citadel species occupied Arks led by Pathfinders, soldier/scientists with a knack for survival. The human pathfinder was Alec Ryder an N7 marine whose resume included traveling through the Charon Mass Relay, creating the A.I. SAM, and fathering twin soldiers. Using long range scanners, the Initiative pinpointed so-called golden worlds for each species, and Alec would lead humanity's Ark, Hyperion, to Habitat 7 with his second-in-command, Cora Harper.

Unfortunately, the crew just woke up from stasis 634 years later, off-course and late to the party. They've lost contact with the Initiative and the native Kett and Angara aren't thrilled about the "invading" humans. Now it's up to Alec Ryder's twins, Scott and Sara, to fight and flirt their way to a suitable new world for humanity, all before power runs out on Hyperion and 20,000 people lose wifi and life support.
