The unsolved 1997 murder of Louisiana State University graduate student Eugenie Boisfontaine motivates Detective Rodie Sanchez to come out of retirement and re-open the case. Shot in real time, ``Killing Fields'' -- Discovery Channel's first-ever true-crime series -- follows Sanchez as he hopes to make good on a broken promise to Eugenie's mother: to find the person (or persons) responsible for killing her daughter.
