Back in highschool I wanted to get my girlfriend something nice... But I can tell you I didn't have much money at the time... but what I did have was a very particular set of skills. Skills I had acquired over a very short career. Skills that make me a nightmare for stores and the "ideal" consumer-world business has forced us into. That's right. I used to make jewelry -- from scratch.
