Female Aggression Hits Different...? | Love Is Blind

Turns out "Mean Girl Syndrome" is a thing - and Micah and Irina from Love Is Blind are proof.

In Season 4 of Netflix's dating reality TV show Love is Blind, Micah Lussier and Irina Solomonova were accused by the internet of being "mean girls". Many considered Irina and Micah to be bullies and unnecessarily aggressive.

It made me curious, what is really behind this mean girl phenomenon? We've all experienced this mean girl behaviour in our lives, mostly in middle and high school - so it was really interesting to see Micah and Irina, adult women, acting like high school mean girls a la Regina George and Gretchen Wiener.

We'll discuss the psychological phenomenon of "mean girl syndrome" and how mean girls use indirect aggression and social manipulation to increase their own status, at the expense of their victim's self-esteem and social value.

We'll look at Irina and Micah from Love is Blind, the movie Mean Girls and talk about the book "Queen Bees and Wannabes" by Rosalind Wiseman.
