Gods, aliens, Atlanteans. Metahumans are everywhere and government official Amanda Waller doesn't trust 'em. So-called heroes like Batman and Superman dole out justice without answering to the government. So Waller and her secretive agency, ARGUS, came up with an alternative: In return for completing impossible black-ops missions against metahuman threats, they offer commuted sentences to super-villains. Lovingly known as the Suicide Squad, the team is implanted with micro-explosives to ensure their cooperation. They're the perfect balance of accountability and deniability.

To lead the team in the field, Waller recruited former Special Forces Operative, Rick Flagg Jr. Flagg also brought his own bodyguard, Katana, who wields the Soultaker, a sword that, as its name suggests, takes your soul when it kills you. Just ask her husband!

Together, they'll lead a volatile new Squad, including:
Deadshot, the gunman that only misses his daughter;
Criminal psychologist gone crazy, Harley Quinn;
The Rogue from Down Under, Captain Boomerang;
Master of knots, Slipknot;
The pyrokinetic El Diablo;
And scale-skinned muscle, the Killer Croc.

And Waller has just given the Squad their first target: The Enchantress, a young woman possessed by an ancient sorceress. Unfortunately, Harley Quinn has a certain murderous ex-boyfriend who may not like that she's playing for a new team.
