Based on Steven Gould's novel and serving as a stand-alone spin-off from the 2008 film *Jumper*, this gripping series premiered on YouTube Premium in June 2018 and quickly garnered attention for its intriguing premise and compelling characters. With two seasons comprising 20 episodes, *Impulse* delves into the life of 16-year-old Henrietta "Henry" Coles, played brilliantly by Maddie Hasson.

Set against the backdrop of Reston, New York, Henry is not your typical teenager. She is an outsider struggling with isolation and inner turmoil—until a traumatic encounter awakens a power within her that she cannot control: teleportation. This ability is triggered during a distressing moment when she confronts classmate Clay Boone (Tanner Stine), who attempts to assault her. In an explosion of emotions, Henry teleports away but inadvertently injures Clay severely.
