About The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask:

The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask is an action/adventure game developed by Nintendo for the Nintendo 64. After originally being released in 2000, Majora’s Mask has been launched on several platforms including: GameCube, Wii and Nintendo 3DS. The game was met by praise because of its strong gameplay, graphics and storyline.

Backstory:

The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask takes place in Termina, a land neighboring Hyrule. While adventuring through the forest on his horse, Epona, link is attacked by the Skull Kid who takes the Ocarina and Epona and puts a curse on Link turning him into a Deku Scrub. Link must search and battle his way to find Skull Kid who also puts a curse on the four cardinal regions of Termina including: Woodfall, Snowhead, the Great Bay and Ikana Canyon.

Gameplay:

The gameplay in Majora’s Mask is very similar to that of Ocarina of Time filled with dungeon puzzles, ocarina songs and a three-day cycle. The gameplay is centered around link exploring the land and battling bosses and creatures. Link is able to collect the twenty-four masks to gain unique abilities.

Reviews and Rewards:

-N64 praised the game as a successor to the Ocarina of Time and gave it a 96% rating
-Majora’s Mask placed 68th on Game Informer’s “Top 100 Games of All Time” in 2001
- IGN voted Majora’s Mask the second best game in the Legend of Zelda franchise, only behind Ocarina of Time.

Transcript:

Eons ago, an ancient race created powerful objects, one of which was a hexing mask powered by a demonic being known as Majora. The mask was eventually lost, until the latter was recovered by an enigmatic tradesman known as The Mask Salesman. This terrifying yet cheerful man takes the mask and the rest of his magic collection into the land of Hyrule, where a hero named Link uses his wares to help save the day.

During Link's quest he befriends many, including once chance encounter with the lonesome, forest-dwelling Skull Kid, who he wins over with his magical ocarina.

Link eventually saves Hyrule, defeats Ganondorf, and gets friendzoned by Zelda. As a reward for his triumph, he is sent back in time to relive his lost childhood. Link has a great time being a teenager until he's attacked by Skull Kid, who now dons Majora's Mask, unaware of its dark power. In one of history's worst pranks, Skull Kid takes Link's ocarina, turns him into a Deku Scrub, and dumps him into the parallel dimension of Termina, where a giant devil moon is going to crush the earth in three days.
